Feedback 

It is really important to St Mary's to ensure that we obtain Parent feedback regularly. This information allows us to see where our strengths lie and also the areas in which we need to improve. 

 

We recently handed out a parent questionnaire to seek parents feedback on the running of the school since the Coronavirus pandemic. Please find some our parent responses...  

 

"Dexter hasn't been at the school very long, but we can already see what excellent management, caring staff and wonderful values the school has. We are very proud." 

 

"We want to again express our thanks to all staff, including the leadership team and office/business staff. You have, and continue to do an excellent job running a wonderful school during these very difficult times. We are so happy with the way you have implemented 'COVID' safety restrictions/guidance and feel you keep parents informed and updated - we have also felt we have a say as you always welcome and listen to parent feedback. We really value this school, its staff and all you do for the children. Special thanks to all the staff for their continued hard work and support. Nursery 

"Thanks everyone - the online learning has been super!"

 

"Oscar wasn't to impressed at the beginning of the week with, having to sit and do a class has he says. However has the week went on he was asking if it was time yet!! Also noticed how much his confidence has grown while doing online learning xx"

 

"Thank you so much for the Zoom sessions. Although we haven't been able to attend them all Rosalia has really enjoyed them. It is lovely that you and the school have tried to keep things as normal as possible for the children."

 

Reception 

"Freddie has really enjoyed the zoom meetings, being able to keep a routine with school has been great. Thankyou for all the hard work from the teachers that has gone into keeping in touch during the closure of reception."

 

"Seeing Laylas face light up every morning as her friends all log into zoom has been beautiful! Layla has thoroughly enjoyed her zoom sessions and so have we!! Getting the opportunity to have an insight into her lessons - which we would'nt have had in normal times has been amazing!! Miss Reid has made the zooms so fun and educational and Layla has done every session with a big smile on her face. Nothing was too much for these amazing teachers, we are so lucky to be part of such a fantastic school!"

 

"Once again, this school has done an excellent job in difficult times. We thank you for your help, support and swift action to ensure we kept ourselves, our families and the wider community safe. We haven't managed to do much of the workbooks with Caleb yet due to working but we will ensure that they are completed over time, and they will enable us to support his learning from home. We are very grateful that the school provided these. Caleb is enjoying the zoom lessons... even asked on Saturday and Sunday if he had them- we explained the teachers needed some time off. We also thought the postcard home was a beautiful touch. Thank you to all the teachers and school staff behind the scenes for their support and dedication. This school is amazing and we are very proud to be part of St Mary's school family."

 

Year 1

"The school have done an absolutely amazing job ensuring that the children are kept safe and also still have access to vital education and also get to see their class mates via zoom lessons. Everyone had been brilliant thanks so much and well done St Mary’s".

 

"Jacks teachers have gone above and beyond for everyone during this time. It has been very beneficial for Jack and has made such a difference for him being able to continue to not only learn/have a routine but also to see his friends as well. Thank you for all the time and effort that you have all put into making this as smooth as possible for us all."

 

"Zoom meetings were brilliant (interactive, fun and well presented). Various activities were set to keep the children learning and busy. Love the books provided by school makes it easy for me as a working parent for Ali to work from the book instead of printing work out from dojo. If Ali had completed the work Miss Breed would always advise of other work he could do to challenge him which I'm very pleased as she identifies this without me having to say." 

 

Year 2

“Excellent I think the Zoom lessons have worked extremely well and worked well alongside the workbooks. Only criticism would be the amount of different codes for Zoom meetings and them changing all the time rather than staying the same.”

“We did not use the Friday phone call but thought it was an excellent idea. The Zoom lessons were absolutely fantastic and we feel very fortunate to have both children at a wonderful school.”
 

“The year two team have been absolutely outstanding throughout this isolation period. Communication has been amazing, nothing has been too much trouble for them. Lessons delivered with patience and calmness that in these strange times provided routine and enjoyment. I have felt privileged to have had an insight to the school day and the amount of work teaching staff put in. You can tell how much the children have felt Zoom to be a safe space of interaction, always with their hands up waiting to participate. I particularly enjoyed the story at the end of the day, lots sitting with their teddies enthralled in the story. You are all an inspiration, in a way I feel you have almost brought the classes together, a glimpse of each other’s homes, Christmas trees, pets… love it. Memories made. Well done year two!”
