Welcome to Year 2

The teachers in Year 2 are Miss Breed and Mrs Mutarah. Learning in Year 2 is supported by Mrs Shufflebotham and Mrs Williamson.

During the Summer term, we will be looking at a wide range of topics in our class. 

Our first topic is History, we will be studying Nurses. During this topic we will be learning about nurses from the past, both Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale.

Our next topic is Geography and we will be learning about what it is like to be a child living in Pakistan. We will be comparing the human and physical features of both a town in Pakistan and a town in England. We will also complete some ICT lessons and will be programming quizzes. During Art we will be drawing a portrait and also exploring monoprinting techniques.

In Maths, we will be continuing to learn about multiplication and division. We will continue to recap our place value knowledge and addition and subtraction skills using problem solving scenarios.

PE 

Our PE day is Thursday. Reminders about which days you need PE kit will be posted on Dojo.  Please make sure that your child comes in to school wearing the correct PE kit. Long hair needs to be tied back. All earrings need to be removed before school.
