Welcome to Year 4 class page

Miss Myatt and Mrs Cooke and Mrs Miah are the Year 4 teachers. Learning in Year 4 is supported by Mrs Jenkinson-Wilks and Miss Akhtar.

During the Autumn term, we will be looking at a range of topics in our class.  

In Maths, we will be practising basic calculations in our arithmetic and learning and embedding times tables up to 12. We will be learning about all four operations.

During Curriculum, we will be learning about mountains in our Geography unit.

We will learn where mountains are located and how they are made. We will look at features of a mountain and the effects tourism can have on areas with mountains nearby.

In Science, we will be learning about states of matter. We will explore what a solid, liquid and gas is. We will observe how some materials can change state if they are heated (melted) or cooled (freeze).

PE

Our PE day is Tuesday. Please make sure that your child comes into school wearing a named kit, which included trainers, black shorts/bottoms and either a purple or yellow t-shirt. Long hair must be tied back and all earrings need to be removed before school or the lesson for PE sessions.
